Marcia L. KraftMarcia L. Kraft (1945-2019)

Of counsel for Family Law, Estate Planning, Probate, Conservatorships, Guardianships, Personal Injury, Employment, Civil Litigation, and Bankruptcy

A pioneer for female attorneys heading their own multi-associate law firms in the San Fernando Valley, Marcia L. Kraft has been in private practice in Woodland Hills and Simi Valley since 1990, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, petitioners and respondents. Now, “of counsel” for Kraft Miles, A Law Corporation, Marcia uses her wealth of experience to counsel the attorneys of the firm. She understands all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody, property issues including complex asset division, probate, estate planning, and the preparation of wills and trusts. She also guides the practice of legal matters involving personal injury and employment law. With her depth of legal experience along with her ability to represent a diverse clientele, Marcia formed a highly effective law firm committed to achieving favorable results, handing over the torch to her daughter Joy, who is now the successive leader of the “matriarchy.”

Marcia is a member of various referral services including the San Fernando Valley Bar Association, the Ventura County Bar Association, and numerous others.

Marcia served as an Arbitrator in the Ventura County Superior Court, a Mediator on Probate and Family Law matters for Los Angeles County Superior Court, and has sat as Judge Pro Tem in both Small Claims and Traffic courts.

In June of 2018, Marcia received an award from the Valley Community Legal Foundation (“VCLF”) of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association for “Exemplary Community Service” related to her outstanding philanthropic contributions to the San Fernando Valley. The VCLF does charitable work providing scholarships and grants to the community. In addition to serving a term as its President, Marcia chaired the development and installation of the Children’s Waiting Rooms at the Van Nuys and San Fernando courthouses.

Marcia earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her Juris Doctor from Southwestern University in Los Angeles, California.

WHAT DO OUR CLIENTS
HAVE TO SAY?

  • I am grateful to have had Leyla represent me in such a complicated case.

On 05/2019 I was served with a frivolous civil restraining order. I was caught off guard and didn't know what to expect or what steps needed to be taken in order to clear this up. I began searching for attorneys online but I was hesitant to reach out to anyone. I wasn't sure anyone would take the time to fully understand my case as this was a complicated one. Thankfully, a family member referred me to Kraft Miles Law where I met Leyla. Leyla took the time to fully understand my case and quickly figured out the bad intentions of the other party. She thoroughly discussed what the plan would be and instantly gave me peace of mind as I knew I was in good hands. At my trial, Leyla informed me of what to expect along the way and made sure all evidence was presented as needed to help the judge make a fair decision. In the end, not only did Leyla help me win my case, but she also helped me get a court order where my  attorney fees would be paid by the other party. I am grateful to have had Leyla represent me in such a complicated case.  In the future, If I come across anyone that is in need of her services, I will make sure they reach out to Leyla.

  • The savings of time to the courts, as well as the costs to the parties, states the obvious.

“Joy Kraft Miles, who is similarly ingratiating to the clients and a very smart family law practitioner. Yet, in spite of the sour history between the parties, through the mediators' tireless efforts, the case was settled after both of them exercised their years of experience to resolve the case. The savings of time to the courts, as well as the costs to the parties, states the obvious.”
